Overview
Buy A Card is a version of 7-Card Stud where the best 5-card poker hand wins the pot.
Players "buy" cards to fill out their hand.
How To Play
Each player is dealt three cards face down.
Three cards are turned face up and the remaining deck is placed face down next to them.
Starting with the player to the left of the dealer, a player may will buy cards to fill out his hand. Cards are priced $.25, $.50 and $.75 for the face up cards. The top card (face down) on the deck can be purchased for $.25.
Face up cards are placed face up in front of the purchasing player as part of his hand.
Face down cards are added to the purchasing player's hand face down.
If a player buys a face down card, they can optionally discard a card from their face down hand and cover one of the face up cards on the board.
Players buy card in rotation until each player has had the chance to purchase 7 cards. Because of discards, some players could end up with fewer than 7 cards.
After all players are done purchasing cards, the player with the best hand showing opens the betting.
Determining the Winner
Each makes their best five-card poker hand using any of their 5 cards. Aces can play high or low.
Aces are always high when determining wild cards.
